Cardinals, Buccaneers, Jaguars In Running For Peterson; Cowboys Out

Apr 23, 2015 12:43 PM

The number of teams who realistically might trade for Adrian Peterson are less than what has been previously reported.

The Arizona Cardinals, Jacksonville Jaguars and Tampa Bay Buccaneers represent the three teams who could deal for Peterson.

Despite speculation to the contrary, the Dallas Cowboys are not in play for Peterson.

"Whoever says otherwise is 1,000 percent wrong," said Charles Robinson. "The Cowboys have not spoken to the Minnesota Vikings about Adrian Peterson. It has not happened. They haven't offered a draft pick, they have not picked up the telephone to talk to the Minnesota Vikings about Adrian Peterson. It simply has not happened."

Blake Bortles' Arm 'Deteriorated' During Rookie Season

Apr 23, 2015 12:10 PM

Blake Bortles admitted this week that his arm was far from 100 percent as his rookie season with the Jacksonville Jaguars progressed.

"My arm kind of deteriorated during the season," Bortles said at the start of Jacksonville's voluntary offseason conditioning program, according to ESPN.com. "It didn't affect anything. It was just, I think, a product of throwing for two years straight without any break.

"Took some time off, let it heal, and then went kind of (to seek) out some proper mechanics on how to make it never hurt again."

Bortles spent the first part of the offseason without a football in his hand, working on improving his mechanics. Bortles wanted to clean up his footwork and throwing motion while also losing weight.

Cardinals, Falcons, Cowboys, Jags, Chargers, Bucs In Mix For Peterson

Apr 22, 2015 12:45 PM

The Minnesota Vikings want a resolution to the Adrian Peterson situation during draft week.

"If he's not traded next week, they're going to keep him," the source said.

The Vikings could entice a team to trade for Peterson once Melvin Gordon and Todd Gurley are drafted.

According to a source, the Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars, San Diego Chargers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the six teams that could deal for Peterson.

Peterson was reinstated last week from an NFL suspension for a child-abuse incident.

Dante Fowler Jr. Expects To Be Picked By Jaguars At No. 3

Apr 7, 2015 8:26 PM

Dante Fowler Jr. expects to be the third overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fowler says he's a perfect fit for coach Gus Bradley's defensive scheme.

"I'd be stunned, just because of the scheme that Coach Gus has," Fowler said Tuesday afternoon following the completion of the University of Florida's pro day at Florida Field. "I feel like as far as him being on the multiple side, 4-3 and the 3-4, I can set the edge and I can come off the edge standing up.

"I'll be surprised [if the Jaguars don't draft him], but that's how the draft goes. I'm just happy that I'm getting drafted and I'm getting drafted on the first day."

Fowler is a perfect fit for the Jaguars' leo spot, which is a hybrid end/linebacker whose main responsibility is rushing the passer, because that's what he did during his three seasons at Florida.
