Jaguars Interested In Trading Down From No. 3

Feb 21, 2015 7:09 PM

The Jacksonville Jaguars are interested in trading down from the No. 3 spot in the draft.

"We had no margin for error these last two years," David Caldwell said. "I think this year we could be more open."

The 2015 NFL Draft is quarterback-heavy, but the Jaguars believe they have their quarterback of the future in Blake Bortles.

"I would expect some calls," Caldwell said. "But as you guys in the media know, you pick everything apart and some of the quarterbacks may fall just like some of the quarterbacks predicted to go high last year fell to the late first round. So you don't really know what other teams' value is."

Doug Marrone Looking Ahead At Work With Jaguars

Feb 6, 2015 6:11 PM

Doug Marrone is looking forward to the coming season as offensive line coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars and doesn't want to dwell on his decision to walk away from the Buffalo Bills.

Marrone acknowledged that he was baffled at a former assistant coach's claims that he was self-centered, selfish and greedy.

The clause in his contract that allowed him to leave the Bills while being guaranteed his $4 million salary in 2015.

"At the end of the day, I had two outstanding years in Buffalo," Marrone said Thursday in his first public comments since leaving the Bills. "I think that Terry and Kim Pegula, they're going to be outstanding. I really can't say enough for the people within the organization, from the trainers, from the PR department, from the equipment people. They were outstanding. At the end of the day, I had a three-day window on my contract, which was obviously difficult because of the time aspect of it. My family and I made a decision to leave.

"I talked to Terry a couple of weeks ago. We had a good conversation and made the decision to [opt out], and we're not looking back and we're moving forward. Really, that's as simple as it is."
