Ryan Mallett Out For Season With Pectoral Injury

Ryan Mallett will miss the rest of the 2014 season for the Houston Texans with a torn pectoral muscle.

Mallett sustained the injury during the game, but was able to play through it. In two starts for the Texans, Mallett completed 41 of his 75 pass attempts for 400 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

 

Ryan Fitzpatrick is expected to become the Texans' starting quarterback again.

Arian Foster Inactive For Week 12

Arian Foster is inactive for the Houston Texans' Week 12 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Foster is still recovering from an injured groin.

Foster ranks third in the NFL with 822 yards.

Alfred Blue will receive most of the carries at running back for the Texans.

The Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans have interest in Brian Hoyer.

Hoyer will be a free agent this offseason and the Cleveland Browns have been in wait-and-see mode on his long-term future.

The Browns drafted Johnny Manziel in the first round, but Hoyer has clearly been the better quarterback this season.

Arian Foster Out For Week 11

Arian Foster will not play for the Houston Texans in their Week 11 game.

Foster was initially listed as questionable on the injury report, but will not make the trip to Cleveland.

Foster suffered a groin injury in Week 9 and wasn't able to get all the way back after the Texans' bye in Week 10.

Arian Foster Questionable But Not Expected To Play In Week 11

Arian Foster is questionable for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns, but is not expected to play.

Foster suffered the groin injury two weeks ago.

"He did some things [Friday], but I think at the end of the day, he and I will talk," Bill O'Brien said. "We'll do what's best for Arian Foster No. 1, and we'll do what's best for our team No. 2."

Foster has rushed for 822 yards and seven touchdowns and caught 26 passes for 229 yards and three touchdowns.

Texans Replace Fitzpatrick With Ryan Mallett

Ryan Mallett has replaced Ryan Fitzpatrick as the starting quarterback of the Houston Texans.

The move has been discussed for four weeks and Bill O'Brien has been a believer in Mallett since their time together with the New England Patriots.

“I just felt like in the best interest of the team,” O’Brien said. “This is the decision I needed to make.”
