Jordy Nelson Has Torn ACL In Right Knee

Aug 26, 2015 12:58 PM

Jordy Nelson has a torn ACL in his right knee but everything else is in tact.

Nelson will miss the remainder of the season for the Green Bay Packers.

"It was determined that WR Jordy Nelson sustained a significant right knee injury in yesterday's game at Pittsburgh," the Packers said in a statement. "He will miss the remainder of the season."

Nelson will need reconstructive surgery but should be back for the start of the 2016 season.

Nelson appeared to land awkwardly on his left knee and not the right knee. Nelson limped off the field under his own power.

"It's difficult to lose a guy like that in a meaningless game," Aaron Rodgers said after the game.

Aug 24, 2015 7:45 PM

The Green Bay Packers fear Jordy Nelson has suffered a torn ACL.

Nelson was scheduled to have an MRI that will determine the extent of the injury.

Mike McCarthy said earlier Sunday he is "looking for good news."

"I'm not going to get into preliminary tests [and] opinions trying to beat someone to be first out there," McCarthy said after the game. "Like I said, I'm hoping and praying for good news tomorrow. That's the way I look at it based on the information I've been given."

Aaron Rodgers: I'm Back Playing The Way I Like To Play

Aug 21, 2015 5:59 PM

Aaron Rodgers feels recovered from a calf injury that slowed him down toward the end of last season.

"I'm back to playing the way I like to play, which is to extend plays when I can and get rid of it when I need to," Rodgers said Thursday, via ESPN.com.

"(If) I have an opportunity to escape the pocket and create a different angle, then I'm going to. It's nice to be back. I trained hard this offseason to keep the speed and keep my body in shape where I can have the endurance to have multiple plays like that in a game. And it definitely adds a different element to our offense."

Rodgers' mobility and accuracy makes him the NFL's most productive quarterback.

Rodgers added he has "zero inhibitions" when it comes to moving on the field.
