Matthew Stafford Interested In Extension With Lions

Matthew Stafford was asked about the possibility of signing an extension with the Detroit Lions.

"I would love to," said Stafford. "I’ve had a really good time playing here, would like to be here long term."

Stafford will make $16.5 million this season and a franchise tag in 2018 would cost $26.4 million.

Anquan Boldin Still Wants To Play, Plans To Sign Closer To Camp

Anquan Boldin has reiterated that he wants to play this season, but he's in no rush to join a team.

Boldin says he will probably sign closer to training camp, which begins in mid-July.

He signed with the Detroit Lions in late July last year.

"I'm still healthy, still going strong," Boldin said. "I still have the passion."

Gunther Cunningham Leaves Lions For Job With Pro Football Focus

Gunther Cunningham is leaving the Detroit Lions, where he served as a senior coaching assistant, to work for Pro Football Focus as its director of football oversight.

Cunningham has spent 48 years as a coach between college and the NFL, including two years as the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs and 15 seasons as a defensive coordinator.

The 70-year-old Cunningham offers the analytics website -- one used by 27 NFL teams -- even more legitimacy.
