Emmanuel Sanders Letting Representatives Handle Talks With Broncos

Jun 26, 2016 8:49 AM

Emmanuel Sanders is entering the final year of his contract with the Denver Broncos and a contract extension appears possible.

The wide receiver has said all the right things, claiming that he's leaving talks up to his representatives.

"I don't think it weighs on me," Sanders said of his situation. "I think it weighs on other people and then they talk about [it] and it's like, 'All right, you're trying to put the weight on me.' If I could just keep my ears closed and not listen to the noise, I wouldn't even know this is a contract year.

"For me, it's going to come. If it's meant for me, it's meant for me. But I'm going to keep playing ball because I love to do it."

Sanders, 29, has caught 177 passes and 15 touchdowns over his two seasons in Denver.

Von Miller On Contract Talks With Broncos: 'Time For Waiting'

Jun 24, 2016 9:05 AM

Von Miller and the Denver Broncos have until July 15 to agree to terms on a long-term deal.

Miller spoke at his charity football camp on Wednesday, but didn't feel like discussing his contract situation.

"I just think, where we're at right now, everything has been said. Everything is already in the books right now," Miller said. "It's just a time for waiting right now. I want all the focus to be on the kids today."

Last week Miller noted that there was "no chance" he plays 2016 under the franchise tag.

Peyton Manning 'Excited' About First Football-Free Autumn In 22 Years

Jun 21, 2016 7:17 PM

Peyton Manning is "at peace" with his decision to retire and is looking forward to some down time this fall.

"I'm really excited about having a free fall (season) for the first time in 22 years," Manning said.

Manning plans to attend at least three Tennessee college football games this year, as well as "some Broncos games on the list." He'll also participate in the Indianapolis Colts' 10-year reunion of their Super Bowl championship team. Manning also expects to watch some of his younger brother's New York Giants regular-season games.

"I'm going to see my little brother play in some normal games as opposed to always seeing him play in a Super Bowl where you can't breathe until the last play," Manning said.

Gary Kubiak: Cody Latimer 'On His Way' To Contributing On Offense

Jun 21, 2016 8:25 AM

Gary Kubiak said last week that Cody Latimer is playing faster and is "on his way" to contributing significantly to the Denver Broncos' offense.

The Broncos drafted the receiver in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

"I think he's on his way to doing that, he's behind two great players," Kubiak said of Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.

"And my position with him has always been 'Cody, guys at your position do one of two things, some guys sit there and say 'Heck, I'm not going to pass up those two great guys' or some guys say 'I'm going to be better',' and he's taken the working approach to it. Now it's got to transfer to the field. I think Cody mentally having a better understanding of the big picture offensively of what you're trying to do his job, it's allowing his talents to take over more."

Broncos, Brandon Marshall Agree To $32M Extension

Jun 15, 2016 12:07 PM

The Denver Broncos have agreed to a four-year, $32 million contract extension with Brandon Marshall.

The linebacker said all along he believed contract negotiations would "work out."

The deal, which begins in 2017, includes a $10 million signing bonus, $15 million fully guaranteed and $20 million in potential guarantees overall.

"He's a guy that came here in 2013 and was on Jacksonville's practice squad and just worked his tail off," said John Elway. "We know what kind of defense that we've had, and he's been a big part of that. ... He's really just scratched the surface of what he could do as far as a linebacker."

Broncos' Von Miller Offer Had $58M Injury Guarantee

Jun 12, 2016 7:36 PM

The Denver Broncos' offer to Von Miller included a total injury guarantee of $58 million at signing with the remainder of the $58 million becoming fully guaranteed on the fifth day of the 2018 NFL year.

Miller sought more than $70 million to be paid out over three years.

The Broncos' now expired offer to Miller included $39.5 million in cash payments over the first two years.

Teams delay vesting of guaranteed money until future years because of the funding rule, which requires fully-guaranteed future payments to be placed into escrow, under the outdated assumption that the team may not be able to make ends meet at a later date.

Broncos Continue Negotiations With Emmanuel Sanders, Brandon Marshall

Jun 10, 2016 9:07 AM

The Denver Broncos remain focused on trying to sign Emmanuel Sanders and Brandon Marshall to long-term deals.

Sanders' representatives recently exchanged proposals with the Broncos on a deal. In two years with Denver, Sanders has averaged 88.5 catches, 1,269.5 receiving yards and 7.5 touchdowns.

"I don't want to go anywhere," Sanders said. "I've expressed that to (general manager John) Elway. It's all about just getting the right number. I pray that they do come to the right number. I think I've given my heart to this city. I've never left anything on the field."

A restricted free agent, Marshall has until Wednesday to sign his $2.553 million tender or a new contract.

Broncos Pull Contract Offer To Von Miller

Jun 10, 2016 9:09 AM

Shortly after it was reported that the Denver Broncos offered Von Miller a six-year, $114.5 million contract extension, Mike Klis of KUSA reported that the Super Bowl champions have pulled the offer.

It seems odd that the Broncos would take the offer off the table just a day or so after presenting it to Miller.

Klis reports that the Broncos and Miller agreed on the six-year, $114.5 million part but strongly disagreed on the structure of the deal, specifically the guaranteed money in the first three years.
