Gary Kubiak Wants Broncos To Handle Emotions Better

Nov 29, 2016 8:20 AM

Gary Kubiak wants the Denver Broncos to handle their emotions better going forward.

Aqib Talib shoved Jordan Norwood after Norwood muffed a punt early in the fourth quarter of Sunday night's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

"We compete at the highest level," Kubiak said. "Our guys compete all the time -- practice, games, those types of things -- so I see guys competing, guys are upset. Jordan and Aqib are fine, I can tell you that. That's not an issue."

The incident happened in a hard-nosed game the Broncos trailed 16-10 with 12½ minutes left in regulation.

"Emotions get in the way and those are things we've got to talk about,'' Kubiak said. "We've got to control our emotions. It's a very competitive environment down there and there was no harm intended, I can tell you that. Those two guys are fine."

Bears, Jets, Broncos, Cardinals Could Pursue Tony Romo In 2017

Nov 17, 2016 10:48 AM

There are four teams that Tony Romo could end up on next season if his situation with the Dallas Cowboys behind Dak Prescott remains unchanged.

In no particular order, Adam Schefter reports Romo could end up on the Chicago Bears, New York Jets, Denver Broncos or Arizona Cardinals.

If Prescott continues to merit playing as the starter, the Cowboys would struggle to carry Romo's $14 million base salary.

Gary Kubiak Wants Trevor Sieman 'To Play Big'

Nov 15, 2016 7:53 AM

Gary Kubiak wants to see more from first-year starter Trevor Sieman as the Denver Broncos enter the stretch run.

Sieman, 24, has guided the Broncos to a 7-3 mark.

"I want Trevor to play big. I don't want Trevor to play OK or good, I want Trevor to play big for this football team," Kubiak said. "And if he can do that and get the ball in the right spots and protect the ball with the formula we had going [Sunday], I think some really good things can happen for this team. I've got big expectations for him and he knows that."

Sieman has completed 60.1 percent of his passes to go with 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

NFL Now Has 10 Teams In Marijuana-Legal States

Nov 9, 2016 1:36 PM

With Tuesday's elections, 10 NFL teams play in a state where marijuana has been legalized medically or recreationally.

California and Massachusetts joined Washington and Colorado as states where marijuana can be consumed for any purpose. If the Raiders relocate to Las Vegas, that won't change as Nevada has legalized marijuana for recreational purposes.

Florida is one of various states to legalize marijuana for medicinal purposes.

The NFL previously justified their ongoing ban because federal law considers marijuana as a controlled substance.

The 49ers, Raiders, Rams, Chargers and Patriots joined the Seahawks, Broncos, Jaguars, Dolphins and Buccaneers.

Wade Phillips Could Coach From Box After Scary Collision

Nov 4, 2016 8:14 AM

After a scary collision on the sideline in last weekend's Denver Broncos-San Diego Chargers game, Wade Phillips could coach from the coaches' box in Oakland on Sunday night.

Phillips suffered a fractured left rib and a bruised lip when he collided with Melvin Gordon last Sunday.

"If I was going to go out, I'd want it to be on a pick-six," Phillips joked, referring to Bradley Roby's interception for a touchdown.

"They did a CAT scan on my head and they didn’t find anything," he continued.

Phillips, 69, is still in pain and doesn't want to get hit in back-to-back weeks.

He coached from the box for one game in 2011 after he had a kidney and his gallbladder removed when he was the Houston Texans' defensive coordinator under coach Gary Kubiak.
