Volume Of Undefeated Teams Are An NFL First

Oct 23, 2015 12:07 PM

The NFL has prided itself on parity over the past 20 years, but five teams remain undefeated through six weeks.

The Green Bay Packers, the Denver Broncos and the Cincinnati Bengals are 6-0, while the New England Patriots and the Carolina Panthers are 5-0.

The Panthers have reached the playoffs in each of the past two seasons, while the Broncos and Bengals are on four straight seasons in the playoffs and the Packers and Patriots have made the playoffs in six straight seasons.

Before 2015, there had been only one season in which even four teams emerged with perfect records through six weeks.

Simulations Believe Broncos Better Off With Manning Over Osweiler

Oct 19, 2015 7:08 PM

Peyton Manning is struggling but the Denver Broncos' odds of winning the Super Bowl remain better with him at quarterback than Brock Osweiler.

Prediction Machine ran 50,000 simulations with Manning and the Broncos win the Super Bowl 10.8 percent of the time, which is the fourth best of any team in the NFL. Denver would win the Super Bowl 9.6 percent of the time with Osweiler as the difference between the two is less than a field goal per game.

The Broncos would be Super Bowl favorites with Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers, Drew Brees or Tony Romo starting. Denver would also improve their standing, though not favorites, if they had Andy Dalton, Carson Palmer, Matt Ryan, Russell Wilson, Andrew Luck, Eli Manning or Cam Newton.

Peyton Manning's Tie To Haslam Could Lead To Exec Role With Browns

Oct 15, 2015 2:09 PM

ESPN's Tony Grossi wrote that “if (Peyton) Manning does decide to try his hand as a football team executive, it is generally assumed that Browns owner Jimmy Haslam would be first in line to take it.”

Haslam is on his third administration since taking over the Browns three years ago.

Gary Kubiak said Manning “can do whatever he wants to do (when he retires). His football knowledge and his drive to compete and lead people is as good as I’ve ever been around. It’s a joy for me to be around. Only he can answer that question if it’s something he wants to do some day, but I think anything he chooses to put his mind to he’s going to be very successful, much like John has done.”

C.J. Anderson: Frustrations Impacting Production

Oct 9, 2015 1:02 PM

C.J. Anderson has said his frustration is impacting his performance, rushing for 2.7 yards per carry on 43 attempts.

"(I've) just got to step out of some tackles," Anderson said. "I'm doing a couple drills that (are) helping me out. Just got to step out of some tackles, you know, not get so frustrated early with myself, just stay in the game, stay focused."

Anderson confirmed the frustrations are bothering him.

"Yeah, I can see it on film, I can see it, I can feel it when it happens. Certain things you go 'Man, here we go again,' just got to stay positive the whole time, just keep that positive mindset."
