May 30, 2017 7:18 PM

The Dallas Cowboys have yet to give away Tony Romo's locker.

They also haven't assigned anyone his No. 9 jersey.

Jason Garrett has re-arranged the team's locker room, but even with a 90-man roster Romo's locker remains vacant.

The Cowboys don't retire numbers, but no one has worn Roger Staubach's 12 or Troy Aikman's 8.

May 11, 2017 10:27 AM

Jerry Jones says the Dallas Cowboys have "no succinct plans" for a Tony Romo tribute.

"Is the idea that recognizing him for what he's done for the Cowboys likely? Yes," Jones said. "I don't want to get ahead of ourselves at all on what we might do. At this juncture there has been, just by the nature of how Tony's career has evolved at this point over the past year, it's had a lot of recognition. We will look to the future on timing as to when we might have some more recognition."

Jones added that plans haven't been solidified because Romo hasn't officially retired.

Elliott, who had more 20-plus yard runs than anyone in football, wants to be better at the second level.

Stephen Jones Supports Reexamination Of NFL's Marijuana Policy

May 4, 2017 7:22 PM

Stephen Jones believes the NFL should take another look at their marijuana policy.

Jerry Jones recently said the NFL should "drop its prohibition" on marijuana.

"Well, our system, our testing, has been in place for years and not unlike we do in our organization . . . we always look to see how we can do it better," Stephen Jones told PFT Live. "I think Jerry's opinion, my opinion, is this program, this system has been in place for a long time. I think it needs to be heavily scrutinized in terms of its results.

"Is it helping players in terms of their accountability? And, obviously, addiction is a sickness and you want to make sure - obviously, there's accountability but it's also a program that helps players get better. . . . Jerry and I think that it might could be done better and we just need to take a look at it. Like I said, it's been the same program that's been in place for many, many years and I think all things to do with the NFL, we should all want the very best for our players. We should want the very best for our organizations and we should want the very best for our fans, and that's anything that has to do with the NFL.

"In my opinion, we should take a long hard look at how we're doing this and see if there's a way, a better way to do it. What that is, I don't have the answer. But we have a lot of smart people that can get in there and analyze something and really make some good decisions and see if there need to be changes."

Tony Romo is among nearly 9,500 players who signed up for the U.S. Open. He plays an 18-hole local qualifier Monday at Split Rail Links and Golf Club about 30 minutes west of Fort Worth.

If he advances, the next step is sectional qualifying on June 5 to get into the U.S. Open at Erin Hills in Wisconsin.

Romo made it out of local qualifying in 2010. In a 36-hole sectional qualifier in which only two of the 35 players advanced, Romo opened with a 71 and withdrew in the afternoon after two weather delays.
