Jun 23, 2016 9:21 AM

The Cleveland Browns went 3-13 last season and Karlos Dansby has provided some insight into just how difficult it was to hold things together under Mike Pettine.

"The coaches and the front office, there was just a lot of mess going on, a lot of things going on, a lot of distractions," Dansby, now a member of the Cincinnati Bengals, said. "Because at a certain point, guys had just shut down."

"Guys shut down, the organization just wasn't clicking. The coaches and the front office, there was just a lot of mess going on, a lot of things going on, a lot of distractions."

Jim Brown: Cavaliers Better Give LeBron A Statue

Jun 21, 2016 8:24 AM

Jim Brown, who will be honored by the Cleveland Browns with a statue outside outside First Energy Stadium, believes that LeBron James deserves one too.

James led the Cleveland Cavaliers to the NBA title on Sunday night, ending Cleveland's lengthy championship drought.

"[Cavs Owner Dan] Gilbert is going to give him a statue," Brown said "He'd better give him a statue. That young man put out so much blood, sweat and tears it's unbelievable. He gave up his life. He could've had a heart attack he was playing so hard. So they'd better give him a statue. That's the least they could do.

"[He's] a young man who has taken responsibility on every level -- community, family, team, organization, city -- and he's done it with grace. He's carried himself well. He has bitten the bullet many times, and it's paid off for him. His legacy is set, and I'm so happy for him."

Brown was the last star to bring a title to Cleveland, winning one with the Browns in 1964.

Danny Shelton Hoping Weight Loss Will Lead To Breakout

Jun 13, 2016 9:43 AM

The Cleveland Browns want Danny Shelton to be more versatile and the 2015 first-round pick has lost 30 pounds in anticipation.

"He can do so many more things at the weight he's at right now and the condition he's in," defensive line coach Robert Nunn said. "So he's got to keep that and time will tell. He's the one that controls that. I can help him only so much and the strength coaches can only help him so much and Coach (Hue) Jackson can only help him so much. I think he sees the difference of where he was and where he can be."

Shelton came into last year's draft at about 340 pounds, but finished his first season at around 365.

He was not used frequently in the passing game despite his ability in college as a destructive interior presence. Cleveland is hoping to avoid the traditional 3-4 nose path for Shelton, which would eliminate a potentially great player from about two-thirds of the team's defensive snaps.
