Josh Gordon's Suspension To Be Reduced To 10 Games

Sep 15, 2014 2:31 AM

The yearlong suspension to Josh Gordon will be reduced to 10 games following the NFLPA's approval of the NFL's new drug testing policy.

With Week 1 already in the books, Gordon will be eligible to play after the Browns' next nine games, the source said.

Gordon had been suspended for the entire 2014 season as the result of another failed drug test while already a part of the NFL's drug program.

According to Gordon's account, his most recent positive test for marijuana would not have been a positive test at all under the new policy.

Josh Gordon Rules Out Suing NFL

Sep 12, 2014 8:12 AM

Josh Gordon says he has no plans to file suit against the NFL and is moving forward regardless of whether the league decides to revamp its drug-testing policy.

Gordon is suspended for one year due to a failed marijuana test.

Gordon also said Friday that he voluntarily checked himself into a rehab clinic in July, though he doesn't consider himself an addict.

Gordon's "A" sample tested at 16 nanograms per milliliter, a bare one nanogram per milliliter above the 15-nanogram-per-milliliter threshold, while Gordon's "B" sample -- which theoretically should be consistent with the "A" sample, as it comes from the exact same specimen -- tested at 13.63 ng/ml, lower than the threshold, sources previously told ESPN.

Union Seeking Reversals On Current Suspensions

Sep 12, 2014 7:18 AM

NFLPA chief DeMaurice Smith told a Washington radio station Friday that, in talks with the NFL about a new policy for performance-enhancing drugs, the union will seek to reverse suspensions that occurred this year but are based retroactively to the previous policy.

"We don't want players to suffer because the union and league couldn't get it done before the league year," Smith told 106.7 The Fan, adding that the union would not agree to any policy that punishes players on simply being arrested.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter reported Thursday that the NFL is seeking to be able to punish players after an arrest but before the legal process plays out. The negotiations have been described as "fragile."

Multiple sources told ESPN.com Friday that the Broncos believe if the league and union hammer out a new policy before Welker's suspension is completed, he would be reinstated. Cleveland.com, citing league sources, also reported Gordon might be eligible for reinstatement if a revamped drug policy is approved.

Josh Gordon Takes Job At Car Dealership

Dec 13, 2014 5:44 PM

Josh Gordon has been hired as the goodwill ambassador for the Sarchione Auto group in Ohio, sources told ESPN's Josina Anderson.

Gordon led the NFL last season in receiving yardage, will work in all aspects of the Randolph, Ohio-based dealer group's car business, including as an on-floor salesman.

Gordon briefly explored the possibility of playing in the CFL for the remainder of its season, but an NFL source told ESPN's Pat McManamon last week that provisions in his Browns contract would prevent him from doing so.
