The Cleveland Browns have signed Ben Tate on a two-year deal worth up to $7 million.

Tate has been one of the NFL's most productive running backs on a per rush basis over the past few seasons while splitting time with Arian Foster.

The Cleveland Browns will release Brandon Weeden.

Weeden was a first round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

The Cleveland Browns and Karlos Dansby have agreed upon a four-year, $24 million deal.

Dansby's deal includes $10 million in the first season and $14 million guaranteed.

The Cleveland Browns are close to a deal with Donte Whitner.

Whitner was rated as the sixth-best safety in the NFL per Pro Football Focus.

Whitner will turn 29 in July and has been with the San Francisco 49ers since 2011.

The Cleveland Browns are interested in trading for Darrelle Revis.

The Browns run the same system on defense as the one Revis thrived in with the New York Jets.

If the Browns were to trade for Revis, a renegotiated deal would be necessary.

The Browns have plenty of cap space and could pair Revis with Joe Haden at cornerback.

Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Raiders also have strong interest in Revis, but that report was later refuted.

The Cleveland Browns are a "serious possibility" to sign Matt Schaub.

Schaub, who played well for Kyle Shanahan when they were with the Houston Texans together, would compete for the starting quarterback job with Brian Hoyer.

The Texans might release Schaub since he doesn't figure in their long-term plans and is due to make $10 million in 2014.

The Oakland Raiders and New York Jets are also believed to be interested in Schaub should he become a free agent.

The Cleveland Browns have signed Billy Cundiff to a one-year, $1.02 million deal.

Cundiff was picked by the Browns before the start of the 2013 regular season and made 21 of his 26 field goal attempts.

The Cleveland Browns released Davone Bess less than a year after acquiring him via trade from the Miami Dolphins.

Bess caught just 42 balls for 362 yards last season and had several critical drops. 

In January, Bess was arrested in January for assaulting a law enforcement officer at an airport.

Bess also posted a photo on his Twitter page of a small package containing what appeared to be marijuana. The photo was later deleted.

Issues between Jim Harbaugh and the San Francisco 49ers seem to be getting more public as the offseason continues.

Harbaugh's act has reportedly worn thin, particularly among some key "face of the 49ers" type players. 

Harbaugh and the 49ers were expected to discuss a contract extension this offseason, but the issues appear worse than imagined.

Harbaugh and Trent Baalke have an apparent disconnect and the organization is likely to side with the general manager.

"We seem to thrive on chaos and distraction," said one source.
