Callahan is under contract for the 2014 season.

The Cleveland Browns will pursue Gary Kubiak to become offensive coordinator.

Kubiak is known for his zone blocking offense.

Kubiak was fired last season as head coach of the Houston Texans.

Mike Pettine nearly withdrew his name for consideration from the Cleveland Browns' vacancy.

Pettine was hired by the Browns as head coach on Thursday.

"That was starting to wear on me these last couple of days," Pettine told WGR-AM in Buffalo. "I talked to (coach) Doug (Marrone) and it was getting to the point where I'd say, 'Hey, if this goes on much longer I need to pull out because it's just not fair to the Bills.'"

Pettine has tried to distance himself from his mentor Rex Ryan.

Jim Tomsula is on the radar of the Cleveland Browns for their head coaching vacancy.

Tomsula served as interim head coach of the San Francisco 49ers after Mike Singletary was fired several years ago.

Tomsula is defensive line coach of the 49ers.

The Browns spent last week doing background work on Tomsula.

The Cleveland Browns seek a second interview with Dan Quinn, offensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks.

Quinn interviewed with the Browns during the Seahawks' bye week.

Kyle Shanahan, Gary Kubiak and Mike Mularkey are potential offensive coordinators if Quinn does wind up with the job with Cleveland.
