Charlie Weis and Adam Gase are among the candidates for the Chicago Bears' offensive coordinator vacancy.
Weis has been out of work since he was fired as the head coach at Kansas last season.
Gase worked with John Fox over the past two seasons with the Denver Broncos.
Former San Francisco 49ers quarterbacks coach Geep Chryst is also a candidate for the Bears job.
Vic Fangio has joined the Chicago Bears as defensive coordinator.
Fangio spent the past four seasons as defensive coordinator of the San Francisco 49ers.
Fangio runs a 3-4 defense, which aligns with the defensive philosophy of John Fox.
Washington was also interested in agreeing to terms with Fangio.
The Chicago Bears and John Fox have agreed for him become their next head coach.
Fox was fired by the Denver Broncos this week.
The Bears had been expected to pursue a veteran head coach to pair with first-time general manager Ryan Pace.
John Fox will interview for the Chicago Bears' head coaching vacancy, but he's not a lock to be hired.
Fox parted ways with the Denver Broncos on Monday.
Fox is a veteran coach with a winning record and meets much of the criteria the Bears envision in a possible pairing with a first-year general manager Ryan Pace.
Gary Kubiak has announced that he will remain with the Baltimore Ravens as offensive coordinator and won't interview for head coaching positions.
“It is flattering and humbling to be invited to interview for a number of NFL head coaching positions, and I greatly appreciate these opportunities,” Kubiak said in a statement. “But I have decided to stay with the Ravens.
“This is a special organization and we, like [Head] Coach [John] Harbaugh says, are building something great. I want to be a part of that and contribute in whatever ways I can.”
The Chicago Bears will pursue Gary Kubiak for their coaching vacancy.
Dan Quinn is also a target of interest for the Bears, though they appear to prefer hiring an experienced candidate to pair with new general manager Ryan Pace.
Kubiak had said he wouldn't interview for any openings until the Baltimore Ravens were eliminated from the postseason.
Kubiak was head coach of the Houston Texans from 2006 until 2013.
Ryan Pace will have final say on the Chicago Bears' roster and on their head coach.
“The 53-man roster, to answer your question, yes,” Pace said when asked if he has final say. “But my experience is in New Orleans, the relationship between the head coach and General Manager, that’s critical. So is the head coach and the quarterback. Those are the two most important relationships in the building.”
Pace is the NFL's youngest general manager.
“I’m 37, but I’ve seen a lot,” Pace said. “I don’t look at my age, I look at my experience in New Orleans.
"I don't want you guys thinking I'm some moneyball GM. That's not me," said Pace.
The Chicago Bears have hired Ryan Pace as general manager.
Pace was promoted to the Saints' director player personnel in 2013, a position that called for Pace to assist New Orleans Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis in overseeing the Saints' pro and college scouting departments.
Pace joined the Saints in 2001 after playing college football at Eastern Illinois University. He worked as the Saints' director of pro personnel from 2007-2012.
The Chicago Bears plan on interviewing Mike Shanahan once the team hires a general manager.
Shanahan previously worked with Jay Cutler with the Denver Broncos.
Shanahan has also met with the Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills.
