Jonathan Stewart On Losing Carries To Christian McCaffrey: Who Cares?

May 31, 2017 9:07 AM

Jonathan Stewart isn't worried about losing carries to rookie Christian McCaffrey with the Carolina Panthers this coming season.

"Stop talking about that. Who cares?" Stewart said. "We want to win the Super Bowl, right? That's the bottom line. It's not about people getting carries. It's not about people getting catches or touchdowns.

"It's about what can you contribute to get us to the Super Bowl."

The Panthers used the eighth overall pick on McCaffery earlier this month.

Panthers Want To Run More Tom Brady-Style Passes For Cam Newton

May 1, 2017 9:05 AM

The Carolina Panthers want to add to their offense this season and Mike Shula says one dimension they plan to add includes more Tom Brady-style passes to running backs.

That focus is the reason why Carolina used their first two picks on multi-dimensional backs/receivers.

"In the Super Bowl, how many passes do you think Tom Brady threw to his backs? Mostly completed, right?" Shula said. "So maybe sometimes it turns into just a four-yard gain. But I'll take a four-yard gain.

"They're glorified runs sometimes, but they work and it doesn't matter what you call them."
