Jonathan Martin Retires At Age Of 25

Jul 27, 2015 3:06 PM

Jonathan Martin will retire from the NFL as he deals with a back injury that would have forced him out of the 2015 season.

Martin was a second round pick out of Stanford in 2012.

Martin spent two seasons with the Miami Dolphins and was the victim of a bullying scandal.

The San Francisco 49ers signed Martin for the 2014 season. The Carolina Panthers had claimed Martin and he was going to be in their training camp.

Greg Hardy Has 10-Game Suspension Reduced To Four

Jul 13, 2015 12:16 PM

The suspension of Greg Hardy has been reduced from 10 games to four games.

The NFL initially suspended Hardy in April for what it deemed to be multiple violations of the league's personal conduct policy during an incident with a former girlfriend in spring 2014. The charges against Hardy, who was with the Carolina Panthers at the time, were eventually dismissed after the ex-girlfriend, Nicole Holder, refused to cooperate with the Mecklenburg (North Carolina) County district attorney's office.

Hardy signed with the Dallas Cowboys in the offseason.

In July 2014, Hardy was found guilty by a judge of assaulting Holder and threatening to kill her. He received a 60-day suspended sentence and 18 months' probation on misdemeanor charges but appealed the judge's ruling in favor of a jury trial. The case was dismissed in February when Holder chose not to cooperate with authorities after receiving a settlement from Hardy.
