Sammy Watkins Hopes To Be Ready For Camp

Jun 27, 2016 7:20 AM

Sammy Watkins says he hopes to be ready for training camp after suffering a broken foot and having surgery in May.

The initial prognosis was that Watkins would be ready for training camp, but the two sides are now being conservative with rehab.

"You never know. Right now I feel good but I got to go back and train and rehab," he said. "Hopefully it feels good when I run and everything like that. I haven't ran in three or four weeks. Hopefully I'll feel good about it and I'll be on the field in training camp."

Watkins caught 60 passes for 1,047 yards and nine touchdowns last season.

NFL Has Asked Bills About New Stadium Plans

Jun 22, 2016 7:20 PM

Buffalo Bills owner Terry Pegula says the NFL has asked him about his intentions to build a new stadium, but that he has yet to reach any decisions on the issue.

"We'll look into that," Pegula told WGR 550. "We're a different market than [Los Angeles], right?"

Roger Goodell said this month that the Bills have to "stay up" with modern stadiums, but added that decisions about how to extensively renovate or replace the 43-year-old Ralph Wilson Stadium are between Pegula and local political leaders.

"I think they think we need a new stadium, that's where they're coming from," Pegula said. "You listen to that and you make your own judgment. Our stadium is one of the older venues in the league, if not the oldest."

Marquise Goodwin Taking Risk To Chase Olympic Dream

Jun 22, 2016 8:57 AM

Marquise Goodwin knows the risks he's taking to chase his dream of being an Olympic long jumper.

The Buffalo Bills wide receiver has missed offseason workouts this year while training for the track competition.

"I know it is a risk," he said. "I want a second contract. I'd love it to be in Buffalo. I love football. But I know how important it is to live your life like you want to. I know some organizations wouldn't allow that, but Rex (Ryan) does and I'm so appreciative of that."

There have been reports that the Bills will move on from Goodwin if he makes the U.S. Olympic team.

"The way Rex sees it," Goodwin said, "is that you're a man at the end of the day. He said, 'I wouldn't want to take you from a dream of yours. And if that's a dream of yours, go do it.'"

Rex Ryan believes the Buffalo Bills have "won the offseason" and is challenging other teams to match what his team has done this spring.

"I'm excited about this team," Ryan said Thursday. "Obviously a lot of things have to happen, and we're a month or so away, but I told our players today to 'win July.' We won the offseason. I would challenge any team. I think we've won the offseason."

The Bills will report to training camp at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York, for their first practice July 30.

Bills To Limit LeSean McCoy's Preseason Carries

Jun 15, 2016 8:29 PM

The Buffalo Bills will limit the preseason workload of LeSean McCoy.

McCoy will be in his second season with the Bills.

Bills running backs coach Anthony Lynn said Wednesday the rest of this offseason is "by design" to "keep him fresh, going into his eighth year, (there is) a lot of miles on those legs. So we'll do the same thing (throughout) training camp with him."

McCoy missed four games last season due to injury.

Jim Kelly: Rex Ryan's Job On Line This Season

Jun 10, 2016 3:38 PM

Jim Kelly believes the Buffalo Bills will fire Rex Ryan if they don't make the playoffs this season.

"I think Rex will probably be looking for another job," Kelly told "The Jim Rome Show". "I think everybody knows that, including Rex."

Entering his second season, Ryan is looking to improve on a disappointing 8-8 record last season and reverse a 16-year Bills postseason drought.

The Bills missed the playoffs only three times in Kelly's 11 seasons as the starter in Buffalo. He took the Bills to four straight Super Bowl appearances from 1990 to 1993.
