Bills Claim Matt Simms, Release Jeff Tuel

May 30, 2015 12:46 PM

The Buffalo Bills cut Jeff Tuel in order to claim Matt Simms off waivers from the New York Jets.

Tuel was a favorite of former Bills' head coach Doug Marrone, while Simms spent the past two seasons under Ryan with the Jets.

Simms faces long odds of even making the Bills' roster as they have Matt Cassel, Tyrod Taylor and EJ Manuel competing for the starting quarterback spot.

Marcell Dareus Suspended One Game For Substance Abuse Violation

May 21, 2015 4:20 PM

Marcell Dareus has been suspended for the first game of the 2015 season for a violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Dareus has become one of the NFL's best defensive tackles during his tenure with the Buffalo Bills.

"Last year, I made a mistake involving possession of a banned substance," Dareus said in a statement. "The NFL's discipline for this conduct is part of the drug policy, and I apologize to my family, my teammates, the entire Bills organization and Bills fans that I will miss one game as a result of my mistake. I will work intensely that week and will be extremely happy to contribute to a win in week two for the Bills."

Last May, Dareus was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also picked up that month for reckless driving.

Bills Dismiss Reports EJ Manuel Could Be Cut

May 20, 2015 12:41 PM

The Buffalo Bills have dismissed reports that EJ Manuel could be cut.

Greg Roman shot down speculation that the signal-caller has fallen out of favor with the organization.

"It couldn't be further from the truth," Roman said Tuesday, per Syracuse.com's Matthew Fairburn.

Matt Cassel and Tyrod Taylor are also part of the competition at quarterback.

"I think it's too early to say there is a leader at QB right now," Roman said Tuesday, via WKBW's Joe Buscaglia.

La'el Collins Meets With Cowboys; Dolphins Next

May 7, 2015 1:18 PM

La'el Collins met with the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday and will meet with the Miami Dolphins in the next 24 hours.

The Dolphins had several former LSU teammates such as Jarvis Landry and Anthony Johnson visit Collins on campus.

Collins went undrafted last week after police in Baton Rouge said they wanted to speak to him as part of their investigation into the murders of Brittney Mills and her infant child. Police spoke to Collins on Monday and said he was not a suspect in the case. A paternity test also showed that Collins was not the father of the child.

Collins also had dinner with Rex Ryan of the Buffalo Bills this week, while the Atlanta Falcons and Indianapolis Colts are also interested.

McCoy: Chip Got Rid Of All The Good Players, Especially Black Ones

May 7, 2015 11:17 AM

LeSean McCoy was asked to elaborate on comments he made in April that Chip Kelly doesn't "like or respect stars."

McCoy was surprisingly traded to the Buffalo Bills.

"The relationship was never really great," said McCoy. "I feel like I always respected him as a coach. I think that's the way he runs his team. He wants the full control. You see how fast he got rid of all the good players. Especially all the good black players. He got rid of them the fastest. That's the truth. There's a reason. ... It's hard to explain with him. But there's a reason he got rid of all the black players -- the good ones -- like that."

McCoy was asked how common his opinion is among other players.

"Oh, man. People have heard it. I mean ... Stephen A. Smith has talked about it. Other players have talked about it. But that's one of the things where you don't even care no more. I'm on a new team, ready to play. So it's nothing to do with Chip. I have no hatred toward him, nothing to say negative about him. When he got [to Philadelphia], I didn't know what to expect. When he let DeSean go last year, I was like: "C'mon. DeSean Jackson?" So it is what it is."

Rex Ryan Meets With La'el Collins

May 5, 2015 8:19 PM

Rex Ryan of the Buffalo Bills had an unsanctioned meeting on Monday with La'el Collins.

Collins was not selected in last week's NFL Draft following the shooting death of his ex-girlfriend.

Police have not named Collins as a suspect or even a person of interest in the murder investigation.

Collins, who was once seen as a likely first-round selection, now is classified as an undrafted free agent and, despite his original intention to do so, cannot enter the 2016 draft, an NFL spokesman told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
