Larry Fitzgerald Has 'No Idea' If 2016 Could Be His Final Season

May 24, 2016 8:18 PM

Larry Fitzgerald had a resurgent season in 2015, catching 109 balls for 1,215 yards and nine touchdowns.

"Honestly, I have no idea," Fitzgerald said, via the Cardinals' team site. "I really don't look at it like that."

Fitzgerald hinted last month that his future could be linked to the quarterback position of the Arizona Cardinals.

"A lot of it's tied to Carson (Palmer) -- Carson's playing at a high level," he said. "I don't want to go through any other quarterback situations. It's been great to have the stability that we have now with the big fella, he's been playing lights out."

Tyrann Mathieu Could Become NFL's Richest Safety

May 16, 2016 3:08 PM

The Arizona Cardinals and Tyrann Mathieu could agree upon an extension that makes him the richest safety in the NFL.

"They view him as one of the faces of the franchise and their community efforts," Ian Rapoport said. "... From what I am told a new payday is expected to make him among the highest paid, if not the highest-paid safety in the NFL and don't be surprised, if all goes well, if this is done before everyone breaks for the summer."

Seattle's Earl Thomas earns $10 million per season, New England's Devin McCourty has the highest guarantee at $22 million and Eric Berry is under the franchise tag at $10.8 million in Kansas City.

Bruce Arians: Robert Nkemdiche 'Killing People' Already

May 8, 2016 9:19 PM

Robert Nkemdiche has almost looked too good in practice with the Arizona Cardinals.

Bruce Arians had to tell Nkemdiche to turn things down a notch or two after the first-round pick started to get overly physical in rookie workouts.

"He was killing people in walk-through," Arians said. "I had to slow him down. It's a walk-through, and he bench-pressed a lineman already."

Bruce Arians Calls Cardinals His Final NFL Job

May 4, 2016 7:27 PM

Bruce Arians is calling his current position as head coach of the Arizona Cardinals his final in the NFL.

"Oh, yeah. You never know how long this will last," Arians told Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic. "There's the old saying, there's two kinds of coaches, ones that are fired and others who are going to get fired. You just enjoy every day. Right now, it's the highlight of it. There will be lowlights, we know that. But I'm enjoying every single day."

Said Arians: "This will be my last job."

Arians is now 63 and has become one of the NFL's best coaches since joining the Cardinals.
