Josh Allen Nearly Declared For 2017 Draft

Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen nearly declared for the 2017 NFL Draft before a change of heart.

Allen was very sure in his decision, passing on feedback from an NFL general manager. He had already spoken with another GM.

"I called (Wyoming) coach (Craig) Bohl back and he said, 'Here, I'm going to get you another GM.' And I said, 'Coach, that's not necessary, I'm going to come back to school and play another year for you,'" Allen said.

Last season's was Allen's first as Wyoming's starter.

Twenty Picks, Including Eight First-Rounders, Remain Unsigned

Only 20 draft picks from the 2017 NFL Draft remain unsigned as training camps approach.

Among those unsigned are eight first-rounders, including second overall pick Mitchell Trubisky and No. 3 selection Solomon Thomas.

The Los Angeles Rams have five unsigned rookies, all of which were selected in the fourth round or later.

Derek Barnett Signs Rookie Deal With Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed first-round pick Derek Barnett to his rookie contract.

The deal is the standard four-year pact with an option for the fifth year, which would occur in 2021.

Barnett was the fourteenth overall pick.
