Andrew Luck Still Not Throwing, Not 'Sullen Or Morose'

Jun 28, 2017 9:19 AM

Andrew Luck is still not throwing, but he remains unconcerned.

The quarterback is still recovering from shoulder surgery.

"Feeling better and better every week," Luck said. "Still haven't started throwing. But that process will come when it's ready."

When asked about the status of his rehab, he replied: "No reason to be sullen or morose! It's a beautiful day."

Jun 26, 2017 4:40 PM

Nick Fairley has been placed by the New Orleans Saints on the reserve/non-football injury list.

Fairley was initially diagnosed with a heart condition at the combine but he went on to play seven years in the NFL.

Fairley visited a cardiologist last month and since then has been away from OTAs and out of communication with many of his teammates.

Jeremy Maclin Played Through Last Season With Groin Injury

Jun 23, 2017 11:03 AM

Jeremy Maclin, who was released by the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this offseason, says he played through last season with a groin injury.

Maclin told Adam Schefter on his Know Them From Adam podcast that he played most of 2016 with a torn groin.

"So I missed about four weeks there with the torn groin, and I came back and I was able to play, but I can't sit up here and tell you I was 100 percent," he said of his injury. "But I'm also not going to sit up here and make excuses, so at the end of the day, I didn't play as well as I could have last year. I think that's ultimately what happened."

Maclin finished last season with career worsts in receptions (44), yards (536) and touchdowns (2).

Teddy Bridgewater Looks 'Like He Was Never Hurt'

Jun 16, 2017 7:47 AM

Teddy Bridgewater has not been cleared to participate in practice as he continues to rehab from the knee injury he suffered last Aug. 30.

However, the Minnesota Vikings quarterback has thrown to receivers during individual drills as part of his rehab work. When he'll be able to work at full speed, or plant his left leg and cut, or absorb contact to his knee remains unknown.

"It's just the way he gets the ball out," Laquon Treadwell said. "He's getting the ball out before you're breaking. He tells me he's spent a lot of time studying film. A lot of things he would say he was messing up on, he's looked 10 times better this year. When you go through an injury like that, film is your friend. You've just got to stay hungry and believe in yourself. He'll be fine.

"He looks great -- really great. It's like he was never hurt."

Myles Garrett Injures Foot In Practice

Jun 15, 2017 9:37 AM

Myles Garrett injured his foot during the Cleveland Browns' minicamp practice on Wednesday.

"That's part of the game," Hue Jackson said. "Obviously I don't want to get any of our players nicked, hurt, any of that. But hopefully things will be fine. We don't want to lose any player, especially not one of our really good players.

"But hopefully things will be OK, and I think they will be. I don't know that for sure but we'll find out as I go inside."

Garrett immediately went to the ground, kneeling with his head on the ground. Trainers checked him and he limped to the sidelines, where he again had his left foot checked without his shoe.

Garrett had missed some practice time in offseason work for an undisclosed issue that was not believed to be serious.

Andrew Luck Doesn't Know If He'll Be Ready For Training Camp

Jun 14, 2017 8:34 AM

Andrew Luck, who has been out since January following right shoulder surgery, isn't sure he'll be ready for the start of training camp in late July.

"To be honest, I have not thought about it," Luck said. "If I'm ready for it, then great. If I'm not, then that's the way it is. I'm certainly hopeful for it. In my mind all I can do -- and I truly feel this way -- with this rehab, with my shoulder, I can't look five months down the road, three months down the road, a week down the road. To me it's about the next rehab session, the next day. That's where my focus is and that's where I think it needs to be to truly get back to 100 percent."

The Colts have shied away from giving a timetable on Luck's return.

Lions Lose LT Taylor Decker For 4-6 Months With Torn Labrum

Jun 10, 2017 1:37 PM

Taylor Decker will be out for at least four to six months with a torn labrum, which means he could miss at least four games.

Decker is the starting left tackle of the Detroit Lions. Decker played every snap for the Lions last season, which moved Riley Reiff to right tackle.

Jim Caldwell said the franchise would provide an update on Decker in the fall.

"Just kind of the nature of our game," Caldwell said. "You've got to adjust. That's one of the things that I think our personnel office does a great job of, I think our players do a tremendous job of. We'll adjust and keep moving."

Jim Irsay: Andrew Luck's Shoulder Healing 'Tremendously'

Jun 9, 2017 7:54 AM

Andrew Luck's surgically-repaired right shoulder is "healing tremendously," according to Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay.

The quarterback had surgery five months ago.

"This [surgery] has been a positive thing, not a negative thing or anything like that," Irsay told season-ticket holders. "He was really struggling going through the process of being ready to play [each week last season]. This was, quite frankly, not that complicated of a surgery. This was a simple labrum repair. There are a lot of other things that could have been involved with this surgery that weren't."

Irsay didn't provide a timetable for when Luck will begin throwing a football, but he has said in the past that the quarterback will be ready for the start of the season.

"He is ahead of schedule," coach Ron Rivera said after Monday's voluntary workout. "We're not putting him ahead of schedule. He's doing all the band work, all the stretching, all the rehab he's supposed to."

Newton had surgery to repair a partially torn rotator cuff on March 30.
